I like it here in the southern Appalachians. It's a whole hell of a accident better than my house was in Cincinnati. Here I can sit forward my front porch and anticipate out over the mountains, watch the cars make progress by on the road below my porch, refuge a little, read a work or just sit and write a little and wait, as I am right now. My writing teachers told me that a story has to have suspense. What I am waiting for is the suspense in this story and I'll reveal that later. I don't have to do anything because I'm the writer-in-residence at the little corporation here called Skidrope association I'm writing ...
