Kmart Corp. is being su for illegal...
Kmart Corp. is being su for illegal harassment at its far north suburban Zion store. The class-action suit was flied Jan. 29 according to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission forward behalf of Francisco Gomez, a former Kmart employee It accuses Kmart of unlawful calling practices, including harassing Latino workers and subjecting them to a "hostile work environment." According to the agency, Gomez and other workers were referr to as "dumb Mexicans" at their supervisor. The commission is seeking back pay and an undetermined amount of punitive damages for Gomez and other unnamed defendants.
