Margaret A. Cheap, former president...
Margaret A. Cheap, former president and chief executive officer of ShoreBank Corp., died onward Feb. 27 in San Francisco after a 10-month battle with brain cancer. Chicago's southern Shore Bank, renamed ShoreBank in 2000 is known as America's first community progressive growth bank. Colleagues called Cheap, 49 an activist banker. She was named to the bank's top office in 1998 and served until last August.
