Hardworking and well-respected business possessor George Reynolds Dutton Jr. had a pliable side.

Whether he was tap-dancing or gulping down a five-scoop ice cream confection chased by way of a milk shake, he touched the lives of all around him with his sweet nature.

"He was sport always positive and in a fair good mood," said his daughter, Sarah Monk "He was smart and knew by what means to treat people well."

Mr Dutton, who tolerateed from Alzheimer's disease, died from complications from a heart attack he sustained at an assisted living facility in Charlotte, NC He was 85

Mr Dutton was born in Hastings, beak on Sept. 21, 1920, and lived there until relocating with his family to Evanston in 1929 He graduated from Evanston Township High exercise in 1938 and spent sum of two units years at Rice University in Texas. He recured to Evanston to study at Northwestern University, where he earned his bachelor's rank in commerce in 1942.

relating to graduation Mr. Dutton joined the Navy and was stationed in the Solomon Islands during World War II, achieving the rank of lieutenant.

After his recur he settled in Oak Park and worked at Sears, and Co. during the day while he attended night academy toward the MBA he earned from Northwestern in 1950

Mr Dutton's son Bill remembers a man who was influenced by means of his family to excel in finance. "His grandfather was a real inspiration to him in business," said his son "Before the incite to Illinois, his grandfather had a lucky manufacturing businesses in Nebraska."

After his time at Sears, he exhausted two years at Arthur Anderson and Company before opening his acknowledge accounting firm -- Dutton and Company in 1954 It operates today subordinate to the name Shintaku & Associates.

He met his futurity wife Elizabeth while in graduate drill She and a friend, the two members of Mr. Dutton's meeting-house Grace Episcopal in Oak Park, ran into Mr Dutton's parents during the intermission of a Chicago consonance Orchestra concert.

"My grandparents presented the girls a ride back to Oak Park and forward the way picked dad up from Sears," said his daughter. "He insisted forward sitting in the back seat between the couple girls and they went from there."

They were married tribe 13, 1949, and had three children. They many times hosted people at their Oak Park family for barbecues and their signature result -- an annual Memorial Day weekend croquet party.

Mr Dutton's precise accountant's nature colored the details of the party. "It would take him hours because he'd present a wicket in and measure and re-measure," said Monk "Everything he did, he did precisely like the barbecuing. He'd ask everybody in what way they like their steaks, write it in succession an index card, draw lines for start times, heat horizontal He'd stand at that grill with a watch, his card and pencil, getting the steaks just right."

Mr Dutton is remembered from his grandchildren as "gramps." He rode all the roller coasters and water rides at Kiddieland, played ballads for the grandchildren and tap danced, said his daughter. "He had a proper sense of humor -- and quirky -- nevertheless always cheerful."

Mr Dutton was preced in death at his wife and a son Alan s Dutton. Survivors include his daughter and another son three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is today from 4 pm to 8:30 pm at Drechsler Brown & Williams Funeral household 203 S. Marion, Oak Park.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday at Grace Episcopal ecclesiastical body 924 Lake, Oak Park. Private interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West.
