"You fix your team goals and personal goals, and that's united of my personal goals," Zambrano said. "Winning the Cy Young is a hard thing; it's like throwing a no-hitter. You don't think about throwing a no-hitter until the eighth or ninth inning. in like manner when you're in September with 18 wins or something is when you think about the Cy Young.

"But now there are a parcel of people doing better than me like [Arizona's] Brandon Webb and Tom Glavine."

Glavine (11-4) wasn't better Tuesday. He lasted 6 innings, giving up five earned hastens and three home runs.

Zambrano doesn't believe the Cubs' aims this season necessarily would harm his chances of a Cy Young if his stats are mighty enough.

"If you do your piece of work and have good numbers, you could be Cy Young or MVP" he said. "That's not a problem"

The young beasts took a 2-0 lead in the first as Aramis Ramirez and Phil Nevin hit back-to-back fireside runs. It was the next to the first consecutive night the Cubs hit back-to-back homer after doing it barely once all season previously. It was Ramirez's seventh place of abode run over the last six games.

Zambrano's homer was an opposite-field ball off Glavine to lead facing the seventh. The Silver Slugger is given to the best hitter at each position.
