The White Sox have plans for right-hander Javier Vazquez, further they have nothing to do with pulling him gone out of the starting rotation.

Alomar's assignment was no easy task, considering it meant batting against Twins ace Johan Santana and catching Sox pitcher Jose Contreras, who frequently keeps catchers scrambling in the dirt with his forkball.

"The last time I caught him [in 2004] I just came on the outside of the DL," said Alomar, who went 0-for-3. "He was tough, nevertheless those are challenges you have to meet"
