A latter article, "Early deaths tied to lack of groceries stores" [July 18], left the impression that poor health in the black community was a matter of "access" to groceries stores. But if we ask wherefore we have few grocery stores in black neighborhoods, we find the answer a great quantity or amount of more troubling. The lack of entrepreneurial values in black communities has made locally concedeed grocers unheard of, and our to a high degree real crime problems scare most distant corporate chains. And when a big chain like Wal-Mart does want to take rise in (yes, Wal-Mart sells nutriment too), various members of the City Council and the unions attempt to restrain it from happening. Unfortunately, our question s are a little larger than groceries stores -- it's poor community leadership.
