Dear Fixer: Back in 1999 I provided...

Dear Fixer: Back in 1999 I provided a certain quantity of original drawings on a commission-sale agreement to Griffin Gallery.

At that time, the gallery was located at Evergreen Plaza in Evergreen Park. Shortly afterward, the business relocated, and I wasted touch with the owner, Gerald Griffin.

I have repeatedly tried to reach Mr Griffin according to telephone and have left messages, to which he does not suit I would like to obtain my art pieces -- or, if they have been sold receive my commission.

John Bauer, Park Forest

Dear John: The Fixer was working forward a piece of performance art entitled, "We'll leave united more message for Gerald Griffin that won't be returned" Then, forward our eighth try, Griffin picked up the phone He said your artwork was in his gallery, ready for pickup.

strangely every time you tried to arrange that pickup, Griffin was unavailable.

It was time for a Fixer house call.

Ye that was The Fixer trudging southerly along Orleans Street in River North forward a recent Friday, carrying a beautiful, sepia-toned drawing of a black Civil War soldier.

It's your favorite piece, and you're glad to win it back. But Team Fixer is still trying to prepare a couple of smaller pieces back from Griffin.

NO TICKETS, NO HELP

Dear Fixer: I bought plan tickets online through Stub nave and spent nearly $400. extirpate Hub shipped the tickets end Federal Express. They said the tickets were delivered to my house, still I never received them. I checked my doorstep the day the tickets were said to have been delivered, and they weren't there.

extirpate Hub has pretty much told me they cannot do anything because the tickets have been marked as delivered, and therefore it is disclosed of their hands.

The harmony isn't until September, but I am self-same nervous that I have wearied $400 on these tickets and have not seen them still I also called FedEx, and they have told me that eradicate Hub has to take care of the question I am frustrated because no individual is helping resolve this. Please, please help me learn my tickets!

Jennifer Leccesi, Waukegan

Dear Jennifer: As The Fixer many times says, the show must travel on, and Jennifer Leccesi must be in the audience. We got in touch with extirpate Hub's Sean Pate and customer-service rep Jackie Tincher, who got this fixed in short order. They contacted the tickets' original vender who was able to commit to memory reprints from Ticketmaster. The vender sent those to Stub nave and they've forwarded them to you.

As for the missing tickets, block Hub tells us FedEx left them to the side of your doorway revealed of public view -- and, after that, they disappeared.

SOFTWARE REBATE WON'T reckon

Dear Fixer: I newly purchased software from the TigerDirect vent store in Orland Park forward June 26. With the purchase, I received a mail-in rebate form. I filled it gone out and provided all the documents as beged the next day.

upon July 5, I received a communication from onrebate.com advising me that I didn't qualify for the rebate.

That same day, I answered to the store with returns in hand and copies of documentation and waited to speak to the store manager.

My solely request at the time was to reply the merchandise for a well stocked or provided refund. But I was denied the restore due to a seven-day store- reply policy. The manager recommended I propel the product back to the manufacturer for a reimburse

Fr Guerra, Orland Park

Dear Fred: Denying rebates has risen to an art form at a rebate-redemption centers. Here's why you didn't come by yours: An invalid offer digest was submitted for the software. We forwarded your moot point to an executive at TigerDirect, who passed it along to onrebate.com, which made the correction and agreed to depute a $40 rebate check.

Thanks this week to contributors Patrick Ferrell Kelly Mahoney and Mike Nolan.
