The firmament suddenly unleashed a 13-0 streak to chance within three points by halftime. Perkins missed a layup in the closing secondarys that would have cut the deficit to single point. Perkins finished 3-for-11 shooting.

"We missed a fortune of close-in shots," coach Dave Cowens said. "But they did, too."

Stacey Dales l the way in Friday's win across the Minnesota Lynx with 20 points, still she was held scoreless according to the Fever.

"I offer her in there at the expiration hoping she could knock down a man and wife [of three-pointers]," Cowens said.

Cowens still praised his team.

"I musing they played well," he said. "They believed in each other, trusted each other. I have not at any time used `moral victory.' I don't believe in it. I believe in execution and everybody playing together."
