DE MOINES, Iowa -- Kevin Costner has been comely much a ghost in Dyersville since starring in the 1989 movie "Field of Dreams."

He hasn't responded to the eastern Iowa town since its famous cornstalks resurrect Shoeles Joe Jackson and other long-dead ballplayers onward the big screen.

The 51-year-old actor-director will appear Aug. 11 at the baseball field in Dyersville as part of a "Rolling Roadshow" tour, in which 10 classic films are being shown at the sites of their filming.

Netflix, an online movie rental service that organized the tour, said Costner will make an appearance before the movie is shown forward a 30-foot inflatable screen in the outfield. He'll play a released concert with his rock band.

"Field of Dreams" was an Oscar nominee and featured single in kind of the most famous movie lines ever: "If you build it, they will come"

The Netflix series also includes an Aug. 10 showing of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" to be entertainered by Lisa Loeb at Cedar Lane Water Tower in Northbrook.
