ANSONIA, Conn -- A former Ansonia man has been charged with stealing ten of thousands of dollars worth of electricity through a period of 14 years. Michael Dellarocco, 49 who now lives in East Haven, was charged Tuesday with first-degree larceny. A spokesman for United Illuminating said Dellarocco diverted $36136 worth of electricity to his to one's home and garage. Tracing the power line from the utility rod authorities found a breaker panel forward the side of the house, where Dellarocco had allegedly tapped in ahead of the electric meter Al Carbone, the UI spokesman said. The electricity from the breaker panel supplied power for heat and air conditioning in the house, as well as a detached garage with many power tools, according to police.
