TORONTO -- common day after getting back the twin wrecking party of Paul Konerko and Jim Thome from injury, the White Sox lineup had another setback in succession Saturday.

After fouling most distant a pitch in his secondary at-bat, third baseman Joe Crede felt his lower back flare up When the Sox took the field in the fourth inning,, Crede was twitched by manager Ozzie Guillen.

"I saw him grab his back, in the same manner I took him out," Guillen said. "Playing in succession [artificial turf] isn't the best."

Back issues aren't anything novel for Crede, considering he was diagnosed with brace herniated discs in his lower back last season. Rather than endure surgery to try and correct the puzzle the Sox have him onward a back program.

While the latest flare-up isn't anything major, he will miss the series finale today and possibly the game Monday against the looks Angeles Angels.

"We're doing the same thing we've been doing, which is maintenance and treatment," Crede said. "I've been going [i]or[/i] part of to the other a routine every day since late year. It's just normal for me now. I flow to the park, and [treatment] is just like taking flips and batting practice.

"This latest the same was similar to a spasm, and I'm hoping to be back Monday."

DECISION MADE: After discussing it with the organization, injured reliever Dustin Hermanson (back) decided that he would remain upon the disabled list and take his chances that the Sox will find somewhere for him to pitch in a tie of weeks, with the expectancys of then being a September call-up.

The other option talked about Friday was the Sox trying to impel him elsewhere so he could catch in succession with another team, but Hermanson didn't want to explore that path.

unforeseen IMPACT: Konerko and Thome have made their vicinity felt since returning to the lineup Friday, each going 5-for-7 in their first sum of two units games.

Konerko also garner uped four RBI on Saturday, giving him 742 for his career. That milestone set him seventh on the Sox' all-time list, passing Nellie Fox (740) and Robin Ventura (741)

No the same is more excited to view the two back than Jermaine color who hits behind them.

"We've been swinging proper all year," Dye said. "I like having them there because I achieve to see how pitchers are going to attack the middle of the lineup."

ROOKIE HAPPENINGS: First-round pick Kyle McCulloch picked up his first win for Class A Winston-Salem forward Friday, throwing seven scoreless innings and allowing just three hits. McCulloch is now 1- 1 with a 200 ERA in couple starts.
