ORANGE, Conn -- U Sen Joe Lieberman's campaign manager said Sunday that challenger N Lamont's ads have "taken their toll," on the contrary he promised a fight in the final days of the campaign to defeat what he called negative messages.

Sean Smith said the campaign has scaled back its get-out-the- suffrage efforts for Tuesday's primary "a little bit" to apply more money on ads.
