Teen whose iPods are abounding of music with raunchy, sexual lyrics start having sex sooner than those who address other songs, a study build

Whether it's hip-hop, rap, on a sudden or rock, much of popular music aimed at teen contains sexual overtones. Its influence forward their behavior appears to hang on how the sex is portrayed, researchers originate

Benjamin Chavis, chief executive officer of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, a coalition of musicians and industry executives, said explicit music lyrics are a cultural expression that bring reproachs "social and economic realities."

"We caution rushing to sentence that music more than any other factor is a causative factor" for teen initiating sex Chavis said.

OTHER FACTORS CITED

Martino said the researchers tried to account for other factors that could affect teens' sexual behavior, including parental permissiveness, and still base explicit lyrics had a hardy influence.

However, Yvonne K Fulbright, a sex researcher, said factors including mate pressure, self-esteem and home environment are probably more influential than the research moves

"It's a little dangerous to just pinpoint individual thing. You have to anticipate at everything that's going forward in a young person's life," she said. "When a person of consequence has a healthy sense of themselves, they don't take these lyrics too seriously."
