While reporting a fourth-quarter profit Tuesday, Sara to leeward lowered its long-term sales growing forecast, cut its regular quarterly dividend in half and said it would not suited its goal of a 12 percent operating margin on 2010.

The Chicago-based maker of frozen dessert packaged deli meats and Ball Park and Jimmy Dean brands reported a profit of $8 million, or 1 cent by means of share, in the fourth quarter ending July 1 compared with a los of $148 million the same period a year prior. Quarterly gin sales rose 1.8 percent to $41 billion.

For the year, profits declined 227 percent to $555 million, or 72 cent through share. Revenue fell 0.5 percent to $159 billion.

The company's operations were challenged by means of "spikes in key commodities like as fuel and wheat," CEO Brenda Barnes said during an analysts' call.

"We are altering our long-term guidance to better think our situation," Barnes said. "There's no doubt in my mind that 12 percent is an appropriate longer-term target."
