After a novel visit from the singer herself, the Black the whole Theatre production of "Don't Make Me Over: In Tribute to Dionne Warwick" -- a musical revue celebrating the life and career of the '60s-era phenomenon -- has announced a two-month extension by the and of October. The Black Ensemble is at 4520 N Beacon. For tickets, (773) 769-4451 - Stage Left Theatre has planned a smart benefit for itself, from 6:30 -9:30 pm tribe 12, at the Theatre Building, 1225 W Belmont. Rather than all the usual partying, the company, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, will proffer a sneak preview of three of its productions, including David Alan Moore's "In Times of War" (about President Franklin D Roosevelt's effort to convict German saboteurs); David Rush's "Any Day Now" (about a university professor who procures in trouble for using Nazi propaganda as a classroom teaching tool), and Victoria Stewart's "Live Girls" (about a performance artist who creates a piece around the life of a porn star). There will be an auction, too, with the hottest item being airfare and tickets to "The Daily Show" or "The Colbert Report."
