McLEAN, Va. -- The Army shooter down a developer's proposal Tuesday to build a military theme park upon a Virginia Army base that would feature rides that allow visitors to "command the latest M-1 tank" and "feel the rush of a paratrooper freefall." A developer wanted to construct the theme park in conjunction with plans to build a strange National Museum of the United States Army from 2011. "That proposal . . was dead in succession arrival," said Keith Eastin, an Army assistant secretary. Local officials worried that a park would make a derision of the Army experience.
