Terry Hands, the internationally admired British director who worn out much of his career at the Royal Shakespeare Company, has gathered united young Canadian plus a formidable local cast for his production of "Hamlet," running tribe 2-Nov. 18 at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. The Canadian, Ben Carlson, nabbed the title part An award- winning actor (and musician), he has exhausted years at Ontario's Shaw Festival. Joining him will be Barbara Robertson (as Hamlet's mother, Gertrude); Bruce A. Young (as Claudius); Mike Nussbaum (as Polonius); Lindsay Gould (star of the long-running Profiles Theatre present to view "Blackbird," as Ophelia); Timothy Edward Kane (as Horatio); Matt Schwader and Ben Viccellio (as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern), plus Wendy Robie, James Harms, Andrew Ahrens, Kevin Rich, Braden Moran, Roderick Peeple Bill Bannon and Aaron H Alpern.
