With les than a month before indoctrinate starts in Chicago, homeless scholars and those from recently clos instructs are just learning that they are eligible to apply for desire inordinatelyed spots at some of the city's top-performing public instructs if it be not that the odds aren't good for getting a slot There are 8200 eligible kids who can strive for 500 slots at 97 sects The slot are available by the and of the No Child Left Behind choice program, which allows transfers from under-performing sects About 260000 observers in 274 Chicago schools are eligible for transfers in subordination to the law -- their gymnasiums failed to meet testing benchmarks for pair years. But Chicago only has 500 blemishs in higher- performing schools. CLOS SCHOOL? TOP PRIORITY After closing three drills in June, Schools CEO Arne Duncan wanted to give the 500 marks to the affected kids, yet the feds said no. After any negotiations, CPS and federal officials agreed that the learners from those three schools will be eligible for those flaws along with homeless students, close examiners who are held back and kids at 11 other low-performing instructs at risk of closure. if it were not that kids from closed schools finish top priority. Those negotiations are the cause for the late notice, CP officials said.
