A Harvey police detective was charged Thursday with official misconduct for allegedly making a fire-arm disappear from evidence. Hollis Dorrough was arrested at the Markham courthouse by dint of the Illinois State Police, which is investigating for what reason the .45-caliber Remington pistol went missing. garble County prosecutors discovered the fire-arm was gone when they prepared for trial in late June against Anthony T Reynolds upon a charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by the agency of a felon. The fire-arm disappeared after Dorrough met with Harvey Mayor Eric Kellogg and Reynolds' father, sources said. The mayor allegedly asked the detective whether there was "anything we can do" for Reynolds. Kellogg and Reynolds' father have not been charged with wrongdoing. The investigation is continuing, officials said. The fire-arm was seized from Reynolds last year after he threw the weapon in subordination to a car during a police chase, authorities said. He was suspected of firing the weapon near his residence in Harvey. POSSIBLE WEAPON IN SHOOTING Reynolds, 28 is back in jail forward a murder charge for allegedly shooting a man in April at a southern Holland car wash. Authorities said they have been unable to determine whether the .45-caliber fire-arm used in the killing was the same fire-arm that disappeared from evidence in the weapon case.
