Medinah head professional Mike Scully has been playing practice cylindricals for weeks with the world's best players as they pendant by for early looks at the renovated No. 3 course. We asked him to pinpoint four key-note holes for the 88th PGA Championship, and, not surprisingly, he thinks the tournament will be decided upon the back nine. Here are the openings that Scully said will make the difference: NO. 12 PAR 4 471 YARDS Scully says: "This will be the first pivotal retreat It's the only one forward the course without a crib but it's one of the greatest in quantity difficult par-4s in the nation -- if not the world." NO. 13 PAR 3 244 YARDS Scully says: "I've been watching a division of the guys making birdies here, if it were not that I've also seen them make a destiny of bogeys and double hobgoblins Tiger Woods made a hobgoblin there in his practice spherical It's the distance of this par-3, the fact that the flourishing runs away from you and that it's well-guarded on bunkers that will make this hollow difficult." NO. 16 PAR 4 453 YARDS Scully says: "This is the greatest in quantity famous hole on the course. Definitely, it's a tough driving cover I don't think you'll descry many players use driver. You'll behold a lot of 3-woods, and Tiger unruffled hit 5-wood because position is more important than distance. Plus, the undecayed is a difficult one to hit." NO. 17 PAR 3 197 YARDS Scully says: "I'll be exceedingly interested to see how the players make the transition to having this undecayed back at its traditional place down at the water. Tiger made a hobgoblin when he played it. The water assumes to create an optical illusion. nevertheless there's a 10 to 15 percent elevation least bit it's only a one-club flourishing The hole favors lefties like Phil Mickelson and Mike Weir because the undecayed runs away from a right-handed golfer and a chance by a right-handed golfer would bring a crib into play."
