Illinois golf coach Mike Small will hit the first bullet in the 88th PGA Championship, while the pairing that fans have been waiting for will tee not on 90 minutes later.

Tiger wood-lands and Phil Mickelson, Nos. 1 and 2 in the world rankings, will begin play Thursday at Medinah rural parts Club at 8:30 a.m. not on the 10th tee. First- and second-round starting times were announced Friday.

British interpret champion Woods and Masters winner Mickelson are in the traditional grouping of the year's first three major champions, along with U spread champ Geoff Ogilvy.
