JERUSALEM -- A U.N.-imposed cease-fire went into purport today designed to end a month of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas that killed more than 900 the public devastated much of southern Lebanon and forced centurys of thousands of Israelis into bomb shelters.

"I'm not naive. . . I'm aware of the difficulties. notwithstanding with this I say with cloyed confidence that the Security Council decision is righteous for Israel," she said.

Officials said Israeli partys would start leaving southern Lebanon as betimes as the Lebanese army and the international force started to expand in the area.

The cease-fire was passed through the U.N. Security Council forward Friday and approved by the Israeli and Lebanese restraints Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah also signaled his acceptance.

Implementation of the hard-won agreement was in question Sunday night when the Lebanese Cabinet indefinitely postpon a crucial meeting dealing with plans to send forth 15,000 soldiers to police Hezbollah's citadel in southern Lebanon.
