Q When should I use firing

injector cleaner for my 2003 Mustang Mach I? Will the cleaner do any harm throughout a long time period? --A.M., McAllen, Texas

A. Don't waste circulating medium on fuel injector cleaner, unles you're using junky off-name-brand gas. Your Mach I version of the Mustang has a 305-horsepower V-8 that calls for premium firing with at least a 91-octane rating. And premium-name-brand gas contains additives meant to continue injectors clean. It makes aftermarket injector cleaners unnecessary.

Q The Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac Vibe were prompted when I asked about a comfortable modern car with high doors, proper mileage and a reasonable price. unless the Cobalt's doors are too reasonable for me and I don't be perceived comfortable backing up in the Vibe. However, I like the Chevrolet HHR and Chrysler PT Cruiser. dutiful choices? --J.M., Chicago area

A. I'd say thus Both have large door openings and chair-height seats, partly because they are retro-style vehicles that model some features of old cars, which usually had high seats and large door openings. The PT Cruiser has slightly clearer rear "sight lines" because the HHR's thick vault pillars impede the view to the back a little. the pair are reasonably priced.

Q I desperately ne a car and am considering the Chevrolet Aveo or Cobalt, or perhaps the Pontiac Vibe. They must fit my $10000- $14000 batch and be reliable with serviceable performance. I want a car with power windows and fastenings --C.S., Burbank

A. The Aveo (from General Motors' southward Korean operation) fits your collection and has those power accessories, besides as it is items as cruise control, unallied keyless entry and AM/FM/CD/MP3 player. The larger Cobalt is more comfortable if it be not that lacks power windows, mirrors and grapples -- and a few other Aveo items -- unles you order the LT version. It stickers at $14700 further you should be able to bargain that price to $14000 or les The Vibe is basically a restyl Toyota Matrix, however starts at $16,430, and you'll pay a scarcely any hundred dollars extra for power windows and grapples which come in an option package. All three vehicles are reliable and provide passable performance.

Q I'm a elephantine Saab fan and hope to have one some day. But I've noticed that many Saab drivers sit "stiff" -- or upright -- and I rarely behold any with their seat reclined. Are the seats designed that way or is this a "Saab thing?" --DM Chicago area

A. Saabs have adjustable seats if it were not that generally upright seating, which is best for comfort and the sharpest car sway The first thing you learn in a high-performance driving/racing gymnasium is correct upright seating, with flexures slightly bent when your arms are expanded toward the steering wheel. Drivers who clownish gait in a steeply reclined seat might direct the eye "cool" to uninformed drivers, however are at a major disadvantage if unexpected emergency driving moves are necessityed
