ATLANTA -- Lil' Wayne was arrested forward drug charges and released forward bond, police said.

The 23-year-old rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, was arrested early Monday in midtown Atlanta with several physics in his possession, according to police.

Carter, who grew up in of the present day Orleans, has recorded five albums, beginning with "Tha block up Is Hot" in 1999.

"Tha Carter II" was hailed through critics and debuted at No. 2 forward the charts after its release in 2005 The album is the secondary installment of a planned five-part "Carter" series.
