As a Muslim I am just as collision...
As a Muslim I am just as collisioned to learn of this alleged terror combination ["U.K. busts liquid bomb plan," moderns story, Aug. 11]. I can't expres enough relief that the British authorities were able to nip it in the gem But as relieved as I am, I cannot shake the feeling that my conduct is responsible for putting we Americans in harm's way. for aye since 9/11 and our gung-ho foray into Iraq unruffled though that country had nothing to do with 9/11 Bush & Co have reminded us that we are a nation at war. This was top-of-the-mind when certain civil rights were taken away below the Patriot Act. Why then are we Americans in like manner surprised when the enemy, or its sympathizers, decides to retaliate with attacks against the West? We are, after all, a nation at war. The killing of innocents is not something I condone, yet given that we are at war, shouldn't we reckon upon to be attacked, night or day, especially when ten of thousands of "the other" are dying needlessly?
