There were three more shootings along Cline Avenue in northwest Indiana forward Friday, and police say they may have a certain quantity of leads at last on the shooter -- or shooter

Lake shire (Ind.) Sheriff Roy Dominguez said a witness to the same of Friday's shootings told police a driver was shooting from a pickup exchange that was headed north upon Cline.

After the shooting, the pickup change abouted to the right and exited the highway. The witness said the shooter then re-enter Cline and flock south, exiting at Columbus Drive.

Dominguez declined to give more information about the shooter or the witness, single saying the information the witness revealed was real significant and may lead them to a suspect.

"We have near valuable information provided to us by way of this witness," Dominguez said at a pres colloquy Friday afternoon.

Police also said they think there are at least brace shooters who have been involved in the Cline Avenue shootings.

"It's possible that in different instances, forward different dates, it could be different people" Dominguez said.

There have been 13 attacks since July 25 when Darwin Burkhart of Hammond reported that someone shooter his windshield and cracked it as he herd under the Cline Avenue bridge in succession 169th Street.

Skeptics doubted his account, unless after similar attacks followed, police began patrolling the area and investigating each enfeebled window.

Cline Avenue was the pageant of three more attacks Friday between 12:07 and 1:45 pm all between Michigan Avenue and 169th As with the past shootings, no single was hurt, although their windows were damaged.

WITNESS CALLS POLICE

Georgianna Edmond of Portage was driving southward on Cline between Michigan and 169th at 12:07 pm when her fore-rank window was struck but didn't shatter.

Twenty-one minutes later, William Dewilde, of toward the south suburban Hazel Crest, was driving his minivan north upon Cline just past 169th and 15th Avenue, when he received a similar stroke

The 64-year-old told police he was just about to exit Cline at Columbus Drive when his back window shattered.

Then, at 1:45 pm Peter Harretos of Valparaiso was driving north forward Cline when his car was struck He had just vexationed over Columbus Drive toward the filtration plant in East Chicago, when the brow window of his Dodge Intrepid was hit. Like Edmonds' windshield, the window didn't shatter further has a round hole with a spider-webbed crack, authorities said.
