Lemont outfielder Austin Mastela could be back upon the field tonight for his team's final opening-round game in the Little League World Series, while the team from Staten Island, NY was hit with a pair of reprimands for an incident Sunday night in a 1-0 los to Lemont

Mastela, 12 was treated at a hospital after being hit by means of a pitch on the ear opening of his helmet during the next to the first inning Sunday. Lemont manager Mike Hall said that Mastela had bleeding and swelling near the back of his ear and that part of the ear inflected purple.

Lemont (1-1) faces Columbus, Ga., (2-0) tonight in the final game of mere play (7, ESPN2).

That game, and all others for the ease of the tournament, will be aired with a five-second delay after the incident in the middle of the sixth inning Sunday.

Just before a commercial break, a Staten Island player was heard using an obscenity while telling his teammates in the dugout they requireed only one run to tie the game. The Staten Island manager then slapped the player.

Little League officials reprimanded the couple the manager and the player Monday, and one as well as the other apologized for their actions. Officials said a repeat violation could lead to a suspension.

Staten Island will be without shortstop Chris Goetz for the quiet of the tournament after he injured his right leg in succession a slide at the plate in the fourth inning Sunday.
