"Who with equal reason neglects learning in his youth, fail to wins the past and is dead for the future" said the ancient classic playwright Euripides, who knew something about the tragic failure to stick to a good education. His caution, that learning while young is necessary to prepare for a rewarding coming is one that Chicago Public instructs keeps trying to inculcate in its bookish mans The school system is making incremental gains as novel improvements in Illinois and Chicago students' ACT scores indicate but there is still to a great degree to be done so that the events to come of these young people does not get by heart lost or die, as Euripides wisely warns. Taking the ACT was mandated in 2002 in the way that that every high schooler must sit down to take it. Three years ago, just after the experiment became compulsory, Chicago scores were 165 yet they have been rising bit by way of bit since. The same with the Illinois scores. further both are way below a verily successful range. The highest possible score onward the ACT is 36. Thirty-three Illinois pupils did achieve this impressive entire score. The Illinois average was 205 while Chicago's was 174 To obtain accepted into college requires a higher inference and of particular concern is the lag of black and Hispanic pupils The school system doesn't merit applause just yet; it penurys to keep working at it, paying mind to Euripides' sagacious caution.
