BERLIN -- A inferior key suspect in a failed conspiracy to bomb two German trains capitulateed to police in his native Lebanon Thursday, a day after authorities issued an international arrest warrant for him, German federal prosecutors said.

The arrest of Jihad Hamad came les than a week after the other main suspect, a 21-year-old Lebanese pupil identified as Youssef Mohamad el Hajdib, was arrested in Germany.

Authorities say the brace men are suspected of planting immature bombs July 31 on couple trains at Cologne station, where they were allegedly seen in surveillance video pulling wheeled suitcases.

The suspects had left the trains before the planned explosions. The bomb were set later in the day forward regional trains in Koblenz and Dortmund. Authorities have said that the detonators went on the farther side but failed to ignite the devices.

Because of the rudimentary nature of the bomb construction -- barbecue gas canisters with triggers using alarm clock -- and the fact that they failed to go on off, experts have speculated that the suspects did not have serious terrorist training.
