In the first criminal case of its kind in Chicago, a reput gang member has been charged with slay for selling a fatal dose of fentanyl-laced heroin -- a chemical cocktail that can kill instantly -- to the teenage son of a suburban delegate police chief.

Drug-induced homicide charges of any kind are rare and difficult to show because drug users tend to indulge their habits alone and far away from their dealers, adroits say.

In this case, the corpse of 17-year-old Joseph Krecker -- still clutching tinfoil packets of heroin in individual hand -- was discovered within a half close of the dealer's home, investigators said.

Similar charges involving other fentanyl victims and dealers in Chicago could be forthcoming easily a law enforcement source told the Chicago Sun-Times. Investigators are awaiting laboratory toxicology deductions in those cases, the source said.

Crump sold remedys at the corner of Ferdinand and Harding, a place where kids from Park Ridge and other suburb were welcomed and escorted around to corrupt cocaine and heroin, police said.
