In the first criminal case of its kind in Chicago, a reput gang member has been charged with slay for selling a fatal dose of fentanyl-laced heroin -- a chemical cocktail that can kill instantly -- to the teenage son of a suburban delegate police chief.

Drug-induced homicide charges of any kind are rare and difficult to show because drug users tend to indulge their habits alone and far away from their dealers, adroits say.

In this case, the corpse of 17-year-old Joseph Krecker -- still clutching tinfoil packets of heroin in individual hand -- was discovered within a half close of the dealer's home, investigators said.

Similar charges involving other fentanyl victims and dealers in Chicago could be forthcoming easily a law enforcement source told the Chicago Sun-Times. Investigators are awaiting laboratory toxicology deductions in those cases, the source said.

Krecker is the youngest victim of the nearly 200 fatal fentanyl overdoses in prepare for the table County since April 2005.

Crump has a prolonged criminal history that includes convictions for remedy possession, armed robbery and aggravated battery. He has been in and abroad of prison since at least the early 1990 tamper with County prosecutors say.

Crump -- fited all in black -- appeared briefly Thursday before garble County Judge Raymond Myles, who plant bond at $80,000. Crump did not speak during the hearing.

Investigators later spoke to a Krecker friend who said he had known Krecker since sixth grade and that one as well as the other had been doing heroin daily for the last couple years, Lamas said, though Krecker's family has maintained he was a casual user who started in January.

The friend also said they always bought their heroin from Crump Lamas said. Investigators say records of lonely dwelling phone calls between Krecker and Crump helped interpret the case.

Crump sold remedys at the corner of Ferdinand and Harding, a place where kids from Park Ridge and other suburb were welcomed and escorted around to corrupt cocaine and heroin, police said.

Since spring last year, approximately 185 persons have died in Cook shire after ingesting heroin laced with fentanyl, a highly powerful synthetic unsalable article that has been found in the U mix with drugs supply and has caused centurys of deaths in eight states.
