Joan Rivers will be conducting her 1000th red-carpet interview Sunday during the Emmy Awards preview present to view but she doesn't know who her fortunate victim, er, celebrity will be still

"She has written up a wish list of tribe she wants it to be," says Melissa Rivers, the comedian's daughter as well as cohort forward the red carpet in the two-hour preview starting at 5 pm onward the TV Guide Channel.

although Melissa won't reveal who's onward the list, she says her mother would have affection for to dish with "someone totally unexpected" at an issue like the Emmys.

Melissa thinks someone like Bill Clinton would fit the bill, moreover she knows her mother wants someone "who is completely unconnect to television" if she had her way.

Of course, Melissa jokingly says she has a fear that the 1000th interview would be her.

"That way, Mom could ask me whatever she wants and I'd have to answer her because I'd be right there upon television," she quipped.

The Rivers women will be all geared up to do the red-carpet thing that night -- grabbing undecayed bites from stars and making quick fashion critiques about what they are wearing.

Melissa says she has learned that the art of simply listening has been most numerous valuable.

"My mother is bad with names, nevertheless I have learned to listen," she says. "You don't ne to be thinking about the nearest question as someone is talking. You just ne to listen to what they are saying. You might actually learn something if you listen."

Melissa says she learned a thing or sum of two units about working the red carpet. Six weeks after Melissa had her baby, a red-carpet celebrity asked her when her child was becoming thinking that the out-of-shape Melissa still expected pregnant.

The explanation crushed her.

Then George Clooney walked up and made Melissa's day.

"He state his arm around me and said I anticipateed amazing," she says. "That made me be stirred so much better because at that gravity I wasn't feeling too pious about the way I looked"

yet not every moment worked not at home so well. While working for E! Melissa faced the wrath of comedian Jon Lovitz, who was angry about the channel's running a tabloid-ish report upon the death of Phil Hartman. Lovitz took revealed his frustrations on her right there forward the red carpet, in face of a national audience.

on the other hand it all worked out later.

"He came back and apologized to me" Melissa says. "He realized it wasn't me who lay [the report] on the air."
