Back in the day, it was easier to forgive faults when "Madden" had competition from single or two other NFL-licensed titles. Year after year, it was the best.

Now that "Madden" is the merely game in town (thanks to EA's exclusive license with the two the NFL and the players themselves), faults become more apparent and the and nothing else thing one can compare it to is last season's game.

A quick contemplate back at '06: as the only next-gen console on the market last year, the Xbox 360 was in the enviable position of giving gamers the definitive "Madden" experience. While the graphics were faithfully spectacular, gameplay was anything yet with key game components absent from last year's version of the game forward the 360 (mini-camp or superstar method anyone?). As such, the game was a bit of a disappointment. Or, to present it in football terms, "Madden NFL '06" forward the 360 was a worthy looking quarterback who was all talk however no game.
