ROGER Ark. -- Majure Blanks "Bill" Stribling Sr a former NFL player who caught the merely touchdown pass Tom Landry threw as a professional football player, died Monday. He was 78 Mr Stribling died at his place of abode according to the Rollins Funeral hearthstone in Rogers. The cause of death was not released. He played six seasons in the NFL three for the strange York Giants (1951-53) and three for the Philadelphia Eagles (1954-57) He caught 114 passes for 1573 yards and 14 touchdowns in his NFL career. He also played in the Canadian Football League in 1960 Mr Stribling caught a 70-yard TD pass from Landry, the Hall of Fame coach with the Dallas Cowboy in the Giants' 63-7 los at Pittsburgh upon Nov. 30, 1952, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Mr Stribling played corporation football at the University of Mississippi. After his pro career, Mr Stribling mov to northwest Arkansas. In 1984 he started Stribling Packaging & Display.
