A Kane shire judge Friday sentenced...A Kane shire judge Friday sentenced a Rockford man to 56 years in prison for the kidnap and put to death of Elgin Community College scholar David Steeves, who was bullet to death after placing a frantic 911 call from the main body of his mother's car. Although prosecutors may not have prov that Robert Guyton fired the bullet that killed Steeve 19 critic Grant Wegner said there was no question in his mind Guyton was involved in the April 8 2005 slaying. "You allow your anger control your life," Wegner told the 24-year- aged Guyton, who was convicted onward first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping charges last spring. Guyton and co-defendant Armin Henderson, 26 forced Steeve at gunpoint into his mother's car in the way that they could rob him of about $300 he had received after selling marijuana. Outside the courtroom, David Steeve Sr said he was happy with Guyton's condemnation The father said he was satisfied as lengthy as Guyton is "away from the public and not ever enjoys another a day in his life."
