The American Airlines flight that was diverted to Bangor was en path from Manchester, England, when the Transportation Security Administration "learned of a reported threat to the aircraft," officials said.

"He was undivided of the smartest-dressed men upon the plane," said Amy Chignell, 28 of Redditch, England, adding that the man had drawn attention on pacing the cabin and disappearing into the restroom for lengthy periods.

Other passengers said the ship's company told them the man was upon a no-fly list, but had been inadvertently allowed forward the plane.
