CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL, SD -- In 1976 Cas Ziolkowski attacked a mechanical problem with united of the Caterpillar bulldozers while working onward Thunderhead Mountain, the site of the Crazy Horse Memorial. The bulldozer slipped not on the side of the mountain. Cas bounded clear of his impending doom, still the bulldozer tumbled down the mountain, turn abouted about 200 feet and landed in succession its tracks -- still running. Word of the accident got back to Caterpillar headquarters in Peoria. Head sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski and his wife, pity soon got a letter from Caterpillar awarding them 25 shares of general stock. The Caterpillar president jok in what manner the company has testing clods -- they really didn't ne to mount a bulldozer off a mountain. The bulldozer is still used upon the mountain today.
