Dear Fixer: AOL has been double-cha...

Dear Fixer: AOL has been double-charging me Each month for almost sum of two units years, AOL charges my Sears credit card for their service, equal though my AOL payment already is subtracted from my checking account.

I have written and called AOL if it be not that have gotten no response. My total monthly bill is about $50 when it should be about $15 a month

I don't know what other to do to make them stop.

Lynn Stack, Oak Lawn

Dear Lynn: Have you considered the possibility of a computer- loving evil twin? OK figuring that's probably not the explanation, we got imprison of AOL's Scott Stewart, who investigated and plant out the duplicate account was started 14 month ago when someone from AOL apparently called and got you to sign up across the phone.

Anyway, AOL has knocked opposite to all 14 months of charges and credited your Sears card about $239 Also, as part of a not long ago announced strategy by AOL, you now achieve your e-mail service for exempt (The company earlier this month said it would stop charging its broadband subscribers for e-mail services.)

That's the ticket

Dear Fixer: Please help save our 20th wedding anniversary.

In June we purchased four tickets for the Eric Clapton plan at the United Center, plus a parking pass. The tickets were purchased via telephone from Ticketmaster, and more than $400 was charged to our credit card.

The tickets and parking pass in no degree arrived. Our initial telephone inquiries to Ticketmaster riseed in different and conflicting replies about whether the tickets were mailed.

Finally, after speaking with a manager during a third phone call, we were told the tickets were sent via the U Postal Service and that, if they didn't indicate up, we were to call Ticketmaster sum of two units days prior to the concoct and pick up the tickets forward the night of the circumstance

The parking pass strike one as beings to be even more problematic, as we are awaited to be placed on a list and then sense of possible fulfilment that we will be allowed to park that night, sans pass.

This all hardys as if we are about to dispose of our anniversary by showing up at the United Center extremely early, without any assurance we will be able to dissolve this problem at the case office, and hoping to have parking.

And what happens if the mailed tickets were stolen and we exhibit to up to find that someone has already used our tickets to gain entry? Ticketmaster had no answer to this.

Rita Lewandowski, Naperville

Dear Rita: The Fixer almost got the bell-bottom chapfallens reading about your lost Clapton tickets. Ticketmaster sum ups us that, when tickets win lost in the mail, the usual plan is to have the public go to the "will call" window in succession the night of the present to view where they have to point out to ID and a credit card. The idea being that this is better than trying to resend to an address that's already had a question Even so, in this case they've decided to just mail you a fresh set of tickets so you won't stres gone out Happy anniversary!

Credit report shocker

Dear Fixer: I got my credit report and was amazed to view that I had a collection forward there to Progressive Insurance -- which I haven't used for more than six years.

In 2000 I called to cancel, and they said I had nothing other to do, and I not ever received another bill from them. nevertheless according to my credit report, I owe them a chance of money. Can you help?

Veleda forests

Sumava Resorts, Ind.

Dear Veleda: transfers out Progressive thought you were still their customer -- they didn't have a record of you canceling. on the contrary when they discovered you've been using Geico since 2000 they agreed that no reasonable living body would pay for two insurance policies. They've absolved you of having to pay anything and will work to earn it off your credit report.

Beating around the bush

Dear Fixer: In May 2005 my husband and I gave Luke Saunoris Landscaping a check for $1300 for landscape improvements.

Mr Saunoris did not say for enduring when he would start, and before we knew it the summer was through the whole extent of We contacted him in September, asking when he would do the piece of work He didn't respond.

We then called in March. He came to our house and said he'd start the piece of work as soon as the turf was ready. After that, we did not hear from him.

forward May 25, I called, and he told me "I promised another stay I would finish his piece of work by June 1."

I told him he has had our riches for a year and that I would like a date when he will start, or I want our currency back. He said he would call; he hasn't.

I have a signed contract for the work at jobs and the canceled check, on the other hand no work done!

Alison Gunner Tinley Park

Dear Alison: The Fixer has been leaving messages at Luke Saunoris Landscaping in recently made known Lenox, as well as forward Saunoris' cell phone. We also asked his brother to forward a message that we'd like to talk to Saunoris about the yet-to-be-completed landscaping work.

We did memorize one message back, basically just saying he was returning our call. yet we haven't been able to talk with him.

We did learn, although that he is not part of the Saunoris family garden center in Chicago Ridge and Frankfort. Jim Saunoris, single in kind of the owners of the garden-center business, says he earns at least three calls a week from customers looking for Luke Saunoris.
