novel YORK -- In a city of 8 million the bulk of mankind someone's always saying something strange. And, not divisible by 2s are, someone is around to hear it.

Like the dowdy on the D train who said: "Yeah, it ain't safe for kids to proceed missing these days." Or the woman upon her cell phone who noted: "Quite frankly, I'd rather be rod dancing."

Chronicling like utterances is the mission of Overheard in of the present day York, a Web site that is an Internet sensation.

"It's really a be fond of letter to New York," said go to the bottom Morgan Friedman, 30.

It all began three years ago, when Friedman overheard a man telling someone onward his cell: "You asked me in what way I'm doing, and I confess you -- and then you bring it back to yourself. You always do that."

Friedman decided similar overheard snippets needed a Web site. He now get by hearts dozens of daily entries.
