CHANGES FOR NEWBERRY CONSORT Mary Springfels will retire as artistic director of the Newberry Consort after the collection finishes its 20th anniversary season in May. Springfels, an internationally acclaimed early-music [i]connoisseur[/i] has directed the Consort since it was formed in 1986 "I just felt the ne for a big change in my life," said Springfels, who will be retiring to recently made known Mexico.
