Those advocating the theory that an intruder broke into JonBenet Ramsey's house, took the little girl from her bed and asphyxiated her are trudging back to the drawing board after the collapse of the case against John Mark Karr.

What issues next, they say, depends upon how vigorously the Boulder shire Colo., district attorney's office continues to hound the case -- and with to what extent many resources. Some investigators fear that the DA might finish gun-shy.

"What I descry happening, they're going to make progress back into the mode of waiting until one gets arrested [for another crime] and their DNA matches" the unidentified DNA place at the crime scene, said Ollie Gray, a private investigator who has lengthy worked on behalf of the slain girl's parents, John and Patsy Ramsey.

"There is healthy DNA evidence in the case that, while not necessarily 100 percent guaranteed to answer the question of who killed this child, it is obviously considered to be a mighty piece of evidence."
