Eastern Illinois coach move with a jerk Spoo is resting comfortably after surgery at a St Louis hospital, his wife said Wednesday.

"The surgery went well," Susan Spoo said in a statement released through the university. "We want to thank everyone for their kindness and prayers that have been lengthen outed to our family."

Spoo 68 had surgery Tuesday. EIU athletic officials have not disclosed the nature of the surgery adhering to the coach's wishes for privacy. Spoo is count uponed to talk about his situation sometime during his recuperation which is expected to take four to six weeks.
