1953

Top-ranked Notre Dame beat No. 4 Georgia Tech 27-14 to period the Yellow Jackets' winning streak at 31 games. ND coach Frank Leahy collapsed at halftime and was administered last rites. He retired later that year at 45

1975

Notre Dame walk-on Rudy Ruettiger played in the final 27 others of a 24-3 Irish victory against Georgia Tech and sacked Rudy Allen. The play inspired a movie, if it were not that current ND coach Charlie Weis -- who was at the game -- doesn't remember it. "I could lie to you and say, 'Yeah, I remember that,'" Weis said. "But no, I don't remember it."

1980

The Irish were ranked No. 1 the last time they went to Atlanta, nevertheless the Yellow Jackets played them to a shocking 3-3 tie -- that hurt up giving their hated rival, Georgia, the top ranking.
