"I just test to make an impact, wherever I can help the team," Suhey said. "I'll play anywhere in literary institution [i]or[/i] seminary of learning any position. But I do like running with the ball and catching it."

"When he is healthy, he is a heck of a player," Holecek said. "He holds his legs moving. He not gives up on a play. He's hard as nails. He'll play defense later in the season. That's where he'll play in college"

Holecek wasn't plugg into Loyola's football tradition before he was hired. Raised in the southern suburbs, he was tuned into what Thornton, Joliet Catholic and Providence were doing. He played at Marian Catholic and Illinois and exhausted eight years in the NFL

Now he is aware that Len Jardine, move with a jerk Naughton and Bob Spoo were 92-14 and won three city titles from 1962 to 1972 and John Hoerster was 72-19 and won single in kind state championship from 1990 to 1996

That's the direction Holecek faiths to take his program in the nearest few years. He enjoys high sect coaching and entertains no aspirations of moving to guild or the NFL. To him, Loyola is a capital fit.

"I didn't know the history," Holecek said. "The way to inflict my stamp on the program is to deposit up a lot of [wins]. We have a certain quantity of special players. Some teams can outmuscle us. further we will score. We have to be smart and quick. Our kids are in shape, and they fight. They won't give up"

"Our defense withstood an adversity," Homewood-Flossmoor coach Tom Bailey said. "We got the cipher on the board."

The Vikings (2-0) scored early in the first quarter when Mark Wade (9-of-12 107 yards) threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to Supo Sanni. The score was appoint up by a 54-yard scour by Mark Franklin.

Wade ran eight yards with 6:12 remaining in the inferior quarter for the Vikings' secondary touchdown.

Franklin (11 carries, 114 yards) added a 27-yard touchdown move swiftly midway through the fourth quarter. Aaron Phillips added a five-yard scoring step quickly with two minutes left.

The Vikings stopped Thornwood (0-2) at the Homewood-Flossmoor 1- yard line twice.
