It was not at all easy being a Wayans. "My parents raised 10 kids in a tiny apartment with no money" says Marlon Wayans. "We had to be in the house at 6 at night and a chance of us slept in the same bed. We didn't know any differently. We deliberation we had it made."

Now, Marlon and his brother Shawn are making art for the smaller fix with their new video "The Wayans Family not aways ... Thugaboo Sneaker Madness," about urban kids trying to make a difference.

Shawn: We grew up in a elegant without grandeur interesting neighborhood in New York City. Shawn: They're exceedingly good kids packaged in way clothes. We wanted them to dres talk and walk like little rappers. to this time they're good kids who realize good grades and respect their parents. It's a pleasantry lesson for the generations to deal with a multiracial throng of kids who aren't bad. This has in no degree been done before. You always have your white 'toons or your black 'toons. 4 What kind of parent are you?

Shawn: I have three kids, ages 7 4 and 1 I'm self-same hands-on. Not tough. But I do give the kids boundaries. I gues I'm still in the infant stages of being a parent. I think the mostly important thing is you have to communicate with your kids. yet you also have to put rules and guidelines. In my house, you can't do whatever you want. I think as a parent you can't be too abundant friends with your kids until they come by grown. You have to be their parent first. You can shift gears later.

Marlon: I have a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old. I think the greatest in quantity important thing is to remember that they're individuals. You can't just teach them the ABCs. each kid likes to learn differently. My son privationed to learn his colors likewise I took a bunch of plastic cars and I threw them onward the floor. He doesn't be pleased with colors, but he loves cars. The key-note is finding out what they delight in to do.

5 Did you prepare in trouble as a kid?

Shawn: We had 10 kids in our house. My parents did this with no riches I was somewhere in between the troublemaker and the quiet kid. As a kid, I took something from a store. It was a little "Star Wars" toy. My friends saw it and they blackmailed me If I didn't give them the toy then they would narrate my father on me. I didn't give it to them. And my friends did sit outside my place of abode waiting for my father to proceed home. But my oldest sister was savvy. She told me to take the toy back to the store. I did that and the lady from the store allow me keep the toy. from the way, my friends not at any time told my father.

Marlon: I stole a big-ass bag of toys from a dollar store and stood outside and cried all day. I felt in the way that guilty. It was freezing cold; I had booger-cicles coming down my nose from all that guilt crying. further I never stole again because it was for a like reason emotional.
