KANSAS CITY, Mo -- Ozzie Guillen still contemplates and sounds like a manager who is leading a team to the playoffs. in succession Saturday, however, the White Sox skipper said that if the association fails to reach the playoffs, he should be held responsible. Considering the lightening slender stick for criticism he has become this year anyway, Guillen wouldn't want it any other way. "I don't mind," Guillen said. "That's who you are. My expectation is to win it, and if I don't win, I will criticize myself. if it be not that I would rather take the heat and don't give permission to my players take the heat. Like I say, if we don't pass where we want to fare I will blame myself and my coaching staff. That's the bottom line. "The first thing is because those 30 persons on my roster, those 32 I don't know to what degree many, besides the 25 each day, they show up to play each day." Guillen absolved general manager view Williams of any blame since the start of the season, praising Williams for going gone out and getting exactly the original of players Guillen has wanted. He did with equal reason in the offseason, and again at the trade deadline when Williams added reliever Mike MacDougal and catcher Sandy Alomar Jr "Yeah, I will blame myself," Guillen continued. "I don't think clan will have to blame me because I will blame myself. I earn paid to win. I don't learn paid to go through the season and the team we have, they offer me on a team to win. It's not like, well, we win in such a manner many games and we don't make it. Well, we are suppos to make it. "Is it my responsibility? Ye Win or make no use of it's always the manager's responsibility. Last year, we were winning with 'Ozzie Ball.' This year we are losing with 'Ozzie ball.' I'm the face of the ballclub and I will take the heat." Since taking the work at jobs three years ago, Guillen has always made his e-mail address public. He's also made it a point to read all the e- mails he's received. He admitted a not many weeks ago that not no other than have the e-mails been pouring in, on the other hand have been more vicious than usual. "They are already blaming it forward me for putting different lineups," Guillen said. "Since we got here, we none change anything. When you let slip the things amplify. We fail to obtain we lose together. We win, we win together." jcowley@suntimes.com Copyright CHICAGO SUN-TIMES 2006 Provided through ProQuest Information and Learning Company. All rights Reserved
