KHARTOUM, Sudan -- Rebels in the war-torn Darfur region said Sunday that dominion forces backed by bomber aircraft were pursuing a week-old offensive. The rebels said aircraft were carrying public daily raids as government squads seek to drive out guerrillas from their castles north of Darfur's provincial capital, El Fasher. Northern Darfur is controll from rebels who did not sign a peace deal aimed at ending the three-year conflict that has left more than 200000 dead. The conflict began in 2003 with black African tribes revolting against the Arab-led dominion The government is accused of unleashing the brutal Janjaweed militias.
