This is sooth to say a unique Labor Day in Illinois. While we salute our state's workers -- all of them -- and their contributions to our communities, the majority of our construction workers are essentially exclud from working forward state-funded construction projects because of Gov Blagojevich's May 2003 Executive Order 2003- 13 that requires exhibit labor agreements on all state-funded plots Union-only devise labor agreements discriminate against Illinois workers who have made the decision not to join a union. We live in a state facing many financial challenges. We continue to anticipate for ways to build more instructs for our children. Shouldn't all state-funded throws be open to all qualified bidders? contemplation after study has confirmed that union-only PLAs increase construction prices, which means taxpayers have to pay an inflated bill. It is time to completion pay-to-play politics in Illinois. obstacle all construction workers bid upon state-funded projects. It is the right thing to do for our children and the taxpayers. This would also be the right way to salute all of Illinois' hardworking construction men and women onward this Labor Day.
