ST PETERSBURG Fla. -- The Minnesota Twins' lineup, after hitting the snooze button for a week, took Labor Day on the farther side

The rookie pitcher made his big-league first attempt in his hometown a memorable single in kind lifting the sluggish Twins to a 2-1 victory through the whole extent of lowly Tampa Bay at Tropicana Field.

"The undivided thing I liked is when we called [Matt] Garza up [from the minors], they said Bonz was upset" said manager Ron Gardenhire, whose team has won 13 consecutive games against Tampa Bay.
