I am a Chicago actor. I am writing in support of your fine theater critic Hedy Weiss. I'm certain you are aware of the piece published in the Chicago Reader, likewise I won't belabor the point.

I can and nothing else tell you that in the past 20 years of acting in plays, I've always admired Weiss' professionalism and acumen in regarding her criticism. I don't know what these folk awaited when they invited Weiss to a workshop and handed her a pres kit. In my world, that is called an invitation to be critical. When united invites a critic to a workshop, single in kind is indeed inviting the critical proces -- for better or worse.

I don't win why they invited a critic if they didn't want to be written about.

I've learned a division about theater from reading Hedy Weiss. She is as virtuous as it gets.
